Although air dry clay may hold the water for a short period of time (longer if it’s sealed with a waterproof varnish), it is also not advisable to drink the water. While air dry modeling clay is non-toxic, Air dry paper clay is not intended for making pottery for any food or drink. Hot drinks may change speed up the deterioration of the clay.
